Zilico receive funding as part of £1.25m SBRI Healthcare awards

Monday 4th March 2019

Zilico have been awarded funding as part of an initiative by SBRI to identify innovations to tackle healthcare problems in the areas of musculoskeletal disorder and dentistry, oral health and oral cancers. The grant will support the development of our Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) technology in a unique device to improve the speed and accuracy of oral pre-cancer and cancer diagnosis.

The development of an oral neoplasia diagnostic will help clinicians better manage patients with oral lesions and with the initial proof-of-concept published data showing a very encouraging ROC curve with AUC of 0.80 and specificity of over 90%, the SBRI funding will support the further development of the technology and hardware as we move towards a pivitol trial.
