Zilico inspires the younger generation
Tuesday 28th March 2017
Zilico’s Chief Executive Sameer Kothari, has become a Science Industry Partnership (SIP) Ambassador with aim of engaging more young people into science.
Sameer has taken on the ambassador role through Cogent Skills to help encourage more students from the Greater Manchester area into careers within science based industries.
As a SIP Ambassador, Sameer will liaise with young people, parents, teachers and careers advisers to promote STEM based careers.
This includes taking part in visits to schools and colleges, attendance at careers fairs and supporting industry visits. He will also share his own knowledge and provide a unique insight into the world of work.
Sameer Kothari, CEO of Zilico said: “The statistics show that fewer people are having careers in science and engineering in the UK. I believe we are failing young people by not communicating the breadth of opportunities that exist, so it’s great to fly the flag for science and UK manufacturing. It’s also great to be able to give something back to the next generation.”
Rachel Brickell, Careers Manager of Cogent Skills said, “One of the key objectives of the Science Industry Partnership is to attract young people to the Science Industries. We are delighted to be working with Sameer who has joined our network of more than 290 SIP Ambassadors working across England to inspire and engage young people. Their support is vital to our ongoing success.”
