Martin Frost

With over 20 years’ experience in starting, financing and successfully scaling technology and life science businesses around Cambridge.

Most recently Martin co-founded CMR Surgical in 2014 and as CEO was recognised as UK ‘Disruptor’ of the year in the 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year awards and ‘Executive of the Year’ at the 2019 MedTech Insight awards recognising his success in taking CMR from inception to global commercialisation with its surgical robot, Versius.

Previously Martin has held a number of C-suite positions including CEO and CFO of Sagentia, the leading technology development company based in Cambridge, which he listed on the London Stock Exchange. Martin qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant, graduated from Cambridge University and is a trustee of the Peek Vision Foundation.

Sameer brings over 15 years commercial experience to Zilico. Prior to joining in November 2007 Sameer was CEO of Plasso Technology Ltd, a venture capital-backed company developing research tools and labware for the life sciences. 2007 saw the launch of its first product, EpranEx, a new generation research tool for life scientists. In May 2007, Sameer successfully led a trade sale exit of Plasso to Becton Dickinson Inc.. Prior to joining Plasso, Sameer was a senior executive, with roles in strategy, business development, HR and M&A within Marconi plc. Including a management board position within mainland Europe.

Dr. Savvas Neophytou, Non Executive Director

Savvas Neophytou is a partner of Deepbridge Capital LLP primarily focusing on Life Sciences investments. Savvas also co-founded Acorn Partners, a joint venture between Deepbridge Capital, Alder Hey Hospital and software engineers WeAreNova. He is a founding shareholder of a number of technology companies including Torafugu Tech and Cerneretec. Torafugu is engaged in the emerging field of data driven enablers to improve health outcomes and Cerneretec is engaged in the development of point of care diagnostics for the acute care hospital setting. He has also been one of the original team and CEO of Now Healthcare Group, with the online doctor platform Dr Now. Prior to that Savvas had a long career in the City, working for 15 years as an investment banker and ECM at JP Morgan, Bear Stearns, Shore Capital, Cantor Fitzgerald and Panmure Gordon. Sav holds a PhD in psychopharmacology from Nottingham University and a BSc (Hons) degree in pharmacology from Manchester University.
