Monday 24th September 2018
Zilico Ltd sponsored Sheffield Medics Women’s Football Club chose Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust (Jo’s) as their 2017/18 season charity and organised a series of team events throughout the year to raise money and awareness for Jo’s, a cause very much supported by Zilico. The team is made up of medical students attending Sheffield University. This week, a cheque for £771.90 was presented to the charity by Rebekah Grassby, the season Club Captain.
Dan Joyce, Corporate Relationships Manager at Jo’s was thrilled to receive the cheque from Rebekah on behalf of the team and said, “We really appreciate all of the hard work that goes into organising fundraising events and feel honoured to have been chosen by the football club as their seasonal charity. All of the money donated to the charity goes towards helping us to reach more people affected by cervical cancer by providing information and support to women and their loved ones.”
At the cheque handover at the University, Rebekah told Dan, “We really had fun at all of the events and are proud to have raised so much for such a good cause. We will continue to support the charity this season by helping to raise awareness of the importance of cervical screening.”
Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to women affected by cervical cancer and cervical abnormalities. For more information: https://www.jostrust.org.uk/about-us Helpline: 0800 802 8000News
