Following a Health Technology Assessment of ZedScan at Helsinki University Hospital colposcopy department, the unit, led by Dr Pekka Nieminen, has undertaken full adoption of the diagnostic device. The 152 patient evaluation showed a 13.2% increase in detection of disease compared to colposcopy alone with a 42.7% increase in detection within the Low Grade (LSIL) referrals.

The hospital receives around 3000 new referrals to colposcopy each year and ZedScan will support better patient management and offer positive Health Economics for the hospital.
